Take a dip into the sonic world of eüsh and their latest tune ‘Forest Moon.’

Sydney artist Sean van Doornum AKA eüsh has been popping up at bars and clubs around town for a number of years now, building a reputation for his heartfelt and precisely crafted folk-rock that swoons between deep melodic meditations and hook-laden choruses. Both haunting and charming, his newest tune ‘Forest Moon’ captures all that makes eüsh one of the best kept secrets in town.

The track lyrically has a certain mysticism about, using the natural world as a metaphor and compass for modern life. “It’s about the duality of energies in nature. Night/day, male/female etc. And the inevitable, intuitive and playful swing or fluctuation between the two. It’s about embracing duality and also finding the balance,” van Doornum says. “The lyric “Time to make a change” is a recognition and encouragement of the move towards more feminine/luna energies in society.”

‘Forest Moon’ is the first taste of eüsh’s fourth album Slow Play, and was largely recorded live at 107 Projects in Redfern with the current incarnation of the band. Ever searching for authenticity and rawness in the groups sound, it says a lot about the ability of the group and van Doornum’s focus on delivering the real deal.

eüsh will be hitting the road in June in support of ‘Forest Moon,’ and if their live performance is anything like the magic captured in their recordings, you’d be a fool not to get along to one – info here. For now, we’re going to sit back and chuck the track on infinte repeat.
