Georgia June’s new track will make you wanna switch your work clogs for some dancing shoes this Monday morning.

Having delivered the goods with 2017 singles ‘Cool’ and ‘Broke,’ Sydney’s Georgia June is back with a brand new track – the 80’s tinged, ‘Pressure.’ In June’s signature style, the tune manages to encapsulate the awkward social anxieties of modern life that we can all relate to, yet somehow makes us want to cut shapes at the same time.

“‘Pressure’ is about the indecision and doubt that comes with figuring out what you want out of your life, specifically when it comes to pursuing what you love. I had just decided to go overseas for my gap year after deferring my university degree and was stressed about disappointing people if things didn’t work out. Or worse, disappointing myself if I didn’t amount to the person I wanted to be,” says June.

‘Pressure’ was recorded in New York at Diamond City Studios by Joel Wittenberg and Ayad Al Adhamy, and sees June expand the dimensions of her sound, swapping gritty guitars for big vocal layers and synth harmonies in an ode to pop music from the decades of boofy hair and sky blue jeans. It hooks you in from the first bar will make you move (even if you don’t want to) for the next three minutes.

“When it came to producing the track, I wanted it to be a feel good groove song that people can dance to at our shows, very 80s pop with contemporary elements,” says June.

If you feel like us and can’t wait to catch ‘Pressure’ live, you can see Georgia June supporting Arcades And Lions on March 16th at The Cambridge Hotel, Newcastle.
