Goodside hitting us right in the feels.

If you’ve been keeping an ear to the ground in the Sydney scene, you’d probably have caught Goodside at a show, or at least on a poster. The cruisy four-piece have been hopping around venues in the Inner West captivating crowds with their brand of smooth indie-rock over the past year or so, and for many of us, a debut single has been a long time coming.

‘I’ve Been Feeling Something Lately’ is everything we’ve come to love from Goodside live shows. Shimmering guitars and breezy melody-driven vocals swoon over the kind of beat you can have a little dance to, with singer Casey Logemann’s heart-on-sleeve lyrics giving the tune an addictively melancholic flavour.

“When I wrote I’ve Been Feeling Something Lately, I was in a rut and had stopped playing music entirely. I had this burst of excitement to write for the first time in years, it made me feel like myself again.” Casey explains. “I didn’t want to create pressure surrounding my creative process, I just wanted the music to be fun. That’s sort of what the song is about and also why I started Goodside.”

If the rest of the tunes on their EP (which is due out later this year) are anywhere near as strong as this, we reckon it will be up there with the releases of 2019. You can catch them launching ‘I’ve Been Feeling Something Lately’ at the Bank on May 28th with supports from Harley Mavis and Ainsley Farrell, and they’re also playing tomorrow night with Truly Holy at Kings Cross Hotel (info here).
