K.I.M puts his spin on the previously unreleased track by the iconic Australian DJ.

Sydney label Sweat It Out are celebrating a decade of existence this year with a tribute to co-founder Ajax, in the form of a 10 year anniversary LP. The Vinyl, which includes ‘I’m Hot’ – an unreleased track by the great producer – showcases the anthological achievements and spirit of the label, and features tracks by RÜFÜS, What So Not, Crooked Colours and more.

To honour the memory of Ajax, who died in February 2013, legendary DJ, and one half of Aussie dance legends The Presets, K.I.M (AKA Kim Moyes) has remixed ‘I’m Hot’ for your listening pleasure. Reworking the track with more of a modern, upbeat techno vibe, we can definitely say that he’s done justice to the two time Australian DJ Of The Year.

K.I.M’s initial response to the track was both instantaneous, and nostalgic. “When I first heard “I’m Hot” I was blown away. It was as if I was immediately transported back to the club with Ajax on the decks absolutely destroying the room,” he says. “I couldn’t believe just how visceral the experience of listening to that track was and how the spirit of Ajax was almost bursting out through the speakers. I wanted to remix the song and give it even more bounce and silliness and also try and match my energy with Ajax’s.”

“While I was making this remix I could feel Jaxy sitting right next to me almost as if we were collaborating on it together. I found myself hurtling towards ideas I haven’t touched on in a while, very fun and very silly! I could really sense Adrian’s enthusiasm and youthful energy from the start of the process right through to the end. It was an incredible feeling. Made me miss him even more,” K.I.M says.
