Sydney’s Lord Dodongo suck you in with a huge psych jam in their latest single ‘Black Snake’

Getting around Sydney for a year or so now, Northern Beaches five-piece Lord Dodongo have been slowly building a reputation as an impressive live force. Fuzzy guitars, long jams, occultist lyrics, weird time signatures – what’s not to love? And now, they’ve gifted the us the first taste from their forthcoming EP Creatures, in the form of ‘Black Snake.’

In typical Lord Dodongo fashion, the track is a set to a time signature that you can’t count but you can definitely bang your head to, with the the tune feeling more like an experiment in rhythm and dueling guitars than any standard rock tune you’re likely to hear these days. It’s a refreshing punch in the face (if there is such a thing) that we can’t wait to see in all its live glory.

You can catch Lord Dodongo playing Frankie’s Pizza this Saturday the 15th (info here) for the ‘Black Snake’ single launch, as well as a bunch of other shows over the next few months (info here).
