Indeed, Sidechains have kickstarted a whole subcultural movement Down Under – including a signature Sidechains fashion style and Internet inspired aesthetic – so it’s no surprise that they’re reaching across the pond to present a pearler from San Francisco producer Airynore.
Airynore has already gained traction for his remixes of artists like Hudson Mohawke and SOPHIE – the latter of whom Sidechains toured last year – and now comes the premiere of his Glowing EP. While the EP only consists of three tracks, there’s some hugely ambitious sounds explored on this bite-sized release. The assertive, metallic percussion lets us know that we’re in Sidechains territory, but is softened by swooping synths that evoke feelings of a pixelated summer. This contrast is what makes Airynore’s release so enchanting.
Touching on Jersey Club and other online-focused sub-genres of electronica, this is another futuristic, refreshing release from the Sidechains stable. Can we have an Australian tour soon, please? Listen to Airynore’s Glowing EP in its entirety below:
