Having just dropped brand new track, ‘Keen For Kick Ons?’, the Perth psych shredders give us a heads up on who we should be keeping an eye on in 2019.

It seems that the global appetite for Psychedelic Porn Crumpets is insatiable at the moment. The space-tinged guitar nuts are once again heading over to the UK after a sold out run of European shows last year, before heading to the US for another 14 shows, including a highly anticipated SXSW debut. It’s looking more and more likely that 2019 will be the year that cements their status as one of Australia’s premium live exports, with their reputation for relentlessly heavy shows swelling around the globe.

Their latest offering, ‘Keen For Kick Ons?’, picks up where last year’s singles ‘Social Candy’ and ‘My Friend’s A Liquid’ left off, with the group’s love for snappy riffs and harmonised guitars once again shining through. Singer Jack McEwan’s oddball vocals, sit somewhere between dreamy and gritty, in classic PPC style, making their influences and motivations as difficult to trace as ever. But hey, it doesn’t really matter when the tune is this fun.

There’s no doubt that this is going to be a big year for the four-piece, but we wanted to hear from them about the artist that they are predicting big things from. So here is Psychedelic Porn Crumpets artist to watch in 2019:

Spacey Jane

One of the freshest sound coming out of Perth last year. 2019 will definitely see them tour nationally so make sure you catch them live.

Yomi Ship

Huge band. Great 3 piece creating sonic structures that can’t really be defined to genre. It’s interesting AF and that’s why I keep going to watch them.

RAT! Hammock

Saw these guys at Bigsound after my housemate got me onto them. Was really impressed, and excited to see what they release next.

Butter

A mix between Koi Child and King Krule, they played Noggin Floggin Festival with us a few weeks back and everyone was talking about their set after.
