Fresh off the release of their eighth album Wolves, Rise Against have announced that they will be returning to Australia this February for their biggest tour yet.
With early full-lengths on Fat Mike’s Fat Wreck Chords, Rise Against are one of the biggest punk rock bands to find mainstream crossover success, and continue to deliver politically-charged lyrics laced with speedy riffs, catchy hooks and liberating sing-a-longs. With the election of Donald Trump creating an uncertain future for Americans, Rise Against have dropped one of their most critical and poignant albums in Wolves, which continues their mission for justice in the orange face of adversity.
“In many ways, a Rise Against show is a safe space for our fans. But I realised… I want to create dangerous spaces where misogyny can’t exist, where xenophobia can’t exist. I want to create spaces where those sentiments don’t have any air, and they suffocate: where those ideas die. Wolves isn’t about creating a safe space, it’s about creating a space that’s dangerous for injustice,” vocalist Tim McIlrath said.
Rise Against will be playing All Ages shows across Australia, before concluding their trip with two gigs in New Zealand. They’ll be joined by Californian crew SWMRS on all dates.
