After a string of singles and performances around the country, Melbourne producer Running Touch is back with his first single of 2022…

The sonics of the new offering, titled ‘Come With Me’, double down on the blend of electronica and indie rock the Melbourne muso has become synonymous with, however furthering the anthemic sound he’s explored on recent releases ‘Ceilings’ and ‘Juno.’ The latest track is definitely more pop leaning however, the verses and hook of the tune striking a nice resemblance to his more pop-centric releases like ‘When I’m Around You’ and ‘Better Together’

The visuals for the new tune, directed by CIAN Marangos, are equally as transportive, utilising vivid landscapes from across Victoria with a distinct emphasis on colour. Running Touch himself features heavily in the clip as well, acting as the sole inhabitant of the settings as he mirrors the frenetic nature of the track through plenty of movement and emotion. The choice to utilise the producer by himself in the clip seems to be part of Marangos’ master plan, with the director explaining, “We wanted to explore the feelings of isolation, frustration, and anxiety that often come with creating art, particularly when working towards something that feels too big to achieve.”

Speaking on the anthemic sound of the new single, the Melbourne muso adds “’Come With Me’ goes further into my love for anthem soundscapes. I love the idea of having these chorus stabs with depth enough you don’t know what the sound source actually is. It’s really given me something to chase and explore. I’m always trying to find a balance between organic and synthetic, so I can be in the electronic space but solo over things live.”

Along with the new tune and video comes news of the producer’s debut album, titled Carmine, with is set to land on May 6th. The record comes after years of singles and making his way up and down the touring circuit, acting as a culmination of his last couple of years in the spotlight as well as a springboard for the next phase of the Running Touch project.
