Get yourself to The Plaza Hotel for a rave that will throwback to peak Sydney nightlife.

For those of you who aren’t old enough to remember pre-lockout Sydney or were there but were having too much of a good time to remember, let us remind you. The nation’s unofficial capital used to fucking go off from night to morning every weekend – with a convergence of young people from all over the state who’d come to party in nightclubs and at gigs that were popping off all over town. It was a special time where the night could lead you anywhere (and often did).

That’s the inspiration that newcomers on the event scene RUSH are aiming to capture this Saturday when they take over the Plaza Hotel. “RUSH is about creating a community, not just an event,” says founder Ryan Maloney. “I grew up hearing stories of what Sydney’s nightlife used to be, and that was our starting vision for RUSH. We’re not trying to resurrect the past, but build something that belongs to Sydney’s current generation.”

And they’ve assembled quite the lineup to do so,  with a full-venue takeover across every floor, from basement to theatre that will see sets from features international heavyweight Black Loops (Italy) alongside homegrown legends Cassette, Jordan Brando, Elijah Something, Little Fritter, and OOTS. They’ll be joined by a stacked roster of local favourites including Dayzzi, Daug, Eva Charley, Felix b2b Shing, Joss, Lily FM, Maloney, Mimi J, Schooner, and Zuko – each of whom are bringing their own spark to Sydney’s rising electronic scene.

Tickets are available now from Eventbrite and start at $25 (first release) through to $45 (final release).
