Yesterday, we received the heartbreaking news that Matt & Alex would be leaving their beloved breakfast slot on Triple J – and now punters will have the chance to farewell them both IRL with the ‘5 Raves In 5 Days’ tour.
The tour will see the boys do a lap of honour around the country with DJ sets from some of the station’s most favoured acts, including Client Liaison, One Day, Gang Of Youths, Drapht, Illy, Feki and more. Speaking on the shows, Matt & Alex said that “as Darude’s messengers here on earth, we felt it was our duty to spread the word of the rave across the country, while saying goodbye to our faithful heaving friends. With a heavy heart, and heavy investments in the glow stick industry, we look forward to raving with you one last time.”
The tour will be hitting Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane – and it’s important to note that all shows are also free. Boom! This sounds like a party and a half, sop head along and farewell two of Australian radio’s biggest personalities. After the ‘5 Race In 5 Days’ tour, the boys will remain on the air until their final hurrah come December 16. Alex Dyson looks to pursue some international adventures following their departure, while Matt Okine will focus on his comedy career on television.
