The cover has obviously turned some heads.

So US gangsta-rap icon Snoop Dogg has released a cover of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds’ 1994 cult-classic ‘Red Right Hand’ – that is one sentence I never thought I’d write. As promotion for the fifth season of UK gangsta series Peaky Blinders, who use the original as the theme song, the rapper has remixed the track, added a new beat, mixed old lyrics with his new ones, but kept the iconic Hammond organ and string arrangements.

Honestly, it’s not the worst cover I’ve ever heard, but it’s pretty weird hearing one of your favourite songs given a G-Funk facelift. Have a listen below and let it sink in. Who knows, perhaps this could be the catalyst for that Bad Seeds X Snoop Dogg collaboration that no one has asked for…
