Secret Sounds has just unveiled an impressive lineup of special guests for the highly anticipated Splendour in the Grass 2023 Sideshows. It’s time to mark your calendars and secure your tickets, as these shows promise to deliver some tasty homegrown and international talent to you earholes.

First up, indie-pop powerhouse Gretta Ray will be joining Sam Fender for his show in Perth. Gretta has had an impressive journey, from winning triple j Unearthed in 2016 to being recognized with the prestigious Vanda and Young Global Songwriting Prize. Her debut album, “Begin to Look Around,” was nominated for ARIA’s ‘Breakthrough Artist’ and ‘Australian Album of the Year’ at the J Awards of 2021. Be sure to catch her in Perth as she supports Sam Fender.

Next, Ziggy Ramo, an award-winning musician, producer, and change maker of Wik and Solomon Islander heritage, will be joining Little Simz for her shows in Melbourne and Sydney. Ziggy’s second album, “Sugar Coated Lies,” released in January, delves into the manifestation of intergenerational trauma. Experience his powerful performance live as he supports Little Simz in July.

Loyle Carner’s show will feature Dublin-born rapper, songwriter, and producer Kojaque, whose sound draws influences from renowned artists like Tyler, The Creator, Frank Ocean, and MF Doom. Kojaque’s debut album, “Town’s Dead,” reached No. 3 in Ireland and was the No. 1 alternative album. With his quick-witted lyricism and distinctive Dublin accent, Kojaque is making waves in the world of Irish hip-hop. Witness his rising global fanbase when he supports Loyle Carner later this month.

For iann dior’s headline dates, YNG Martyr will join the stage, bringing his unique sound that blends high-energy trap music with stripped-back R&B. Martyr’s previous releases have gained significant online attention and millions of Spotify streams. In 2021 alone, he accumulated over 15 million plays across various tracks, and his recent singles have made it to triple j rotation. Chanel Loren, a British Caribbean artist, will accompany Sudan Archives at her show in Sydney. With over 1 million streams across her releases and support from prominent platforms like BBC Radio 1 and triple j, Chanel has been making a name for herself. In Melbourne, Agung Mango will join the party with his gritty and unbounded sound. Mango’s singles have gained him mainstream recognition, leading to appearances at renowned festivals. All City Jimmy will be the opening act for both shows.

London-based Molly Payton, who hails from New Zealand, will support Del Water Gap in Melbourne and Sydney with her captivating live show. Known for her evocative lyricism and evolved songwriting, Molly Payton has received critical acclaim from leading tastemakers and has played alongside prominent artists.
