Grime talent Stormzy is still feeling the warm reception from his recent album Gang Signs & Prayer, which holds enough solid tunes to be crowned as Triple J’s latest feature album.

Fittingly, Stormzy just jumped in for an interview with the radio station, where he discussed his debut full-length and love for current Australian visitor Adele. Perhaps most excitingly, he also announced definite plans for an Australian tour, which will compensate for his cancellation at last year’s Listen Out festival.

When asked about the tour, he said it’s happening a “million, million, thousand trillion per cent,” and that’s a certain figure if we’ve ever heard one. “It’s definitely happening this year and I think it’s gonna happen sooner than expected to be honest,” he continued.

Stormzy also suggested that the dates will be more extensive than his last Australian visit, saying “I’ve got you, I promise Australia, I will be there – everywhere as well. Last time I only did Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney but this time I’m definitely gonna get busy and get around.”

Having last visited Australia for shows which included rambunctious performance at OutsideIn Festival in 2015, Stormzy reflected on the trip by calling it “one of the best times ever that I’ve experienced on a tour.”

“I was a lot smaller, unknown but when I came here to tour it was some of the most packed venues, biggest crowds, knew all the words. I’m thinking, to come back like a year and a bit later and see the growth and I’ve got all these new songs, an album – I’m thinking ‘I’m ready!’ The first time felt like a warm-up. Now, it’s go time,” he said.
