Where the magic happened…

Days away from unleashing their much anticipated sophomore album, Blame My Body, Melbourne’s Little May, AKA Hannah Field and Liz Drummond, are already kicking some serious goals. Not only have they amassed hundreds of thousands of streams on singles ‘Lover’, ‘Apples’, and ‘As Loving Should’, but the duo have also been named as feature record on double j, and announced a European supporting The Rubens. Not too shabby right?

Below we get a glimpse of the band working hard(ish) at Newmarket Studios in North Melbourne and Grove Studios on the Central Coast, creating the album that will undoubtedly bridge their transition from “emerging act” to Aussie music scene staples. Check out the pics below with words from Hannah and stay tuned for Blame My Body which will be out May 3rd:

1. This photo was taken on the second last day of recording at The Grove. Our sprit’swere high, the cicada’s were loud and we were all losing our minds slightly. (Photo by Yael Stempler)

2. Robert Muinos (co producer) doing his thing at the wonderful New Market Studios in North Melbourne. We recorded two different versions of a couple of songs there in Autumn of 2017. (Photo by Giulia McGauren)

4. I’m not entirely sure what was going on at the time this photo was taken but Liz’s expression is too good not to include it. (Photo by Giulia McGauren)

5. Mandatory couch photo at The Grove with two of our favourite people in the world. Mark Harding and Cat Hunter have been playing and recording music with us since the very beginning of Little May. We all went to the same High School. Cat, Liz and I in the same year and Mark the year below but we didn’t know each other super well. I look back on that time and wonder how we would have reacted if we could have foreseen the future, us all travelling the world together, making music. The intense highs and lows of it. We have been through it all with these two and we’ll always be family. (Photo by Yael Stempler)
