Armed with brand new single ‘Make You Stay,’ Blue Velvet are packing the van and heading out on tour.

Having caught our attention earlier in the year with their slacker anthem ‘Stay Inside All Day,’ Sydney punk quartet Blue Velvet have been slowly building up steam over the last few months, with today’s single ‘Make You Stay’ a prime example of how the lads are capturing minds (and ears) across the nation.

Subverting the traditional love song genre, the track is something of a love letter to the music they had previously been making. “Make You Stay serves as this kind of bridge between the band that we used to be and who we are today. It’s a song about accepting the ways relationships kind of evolve and move on, while reminiscing on how things could’ve been different,” singer/keyboardist Sam Bauermeister says.

You can catch Blue Velvet performing their forthcoming sophomore EP A Lesson In Regression (due out October 19th) on their upcoming run of East Coast shows (events here) – it’s probably not the best time to stay inside all day (hehe).
