The homegrown MC has also announced his debut album A Colour Undone

It’s all happening for artist on the rise Tasman Keith this Wednesday, the Bowraville baller releasing his latest single ‘LOVE TOO SOON’ along with a dance-focused music video.

The new melodics see the local MC venture into uncharted sonic territory, swapping out the slick-rhymes and hard-hitting bars he burst onto the scene with for soulful crooning and vibrant production textures. This new sound isn’t the result of experimentation however, but rather, is the type of music Tasman has wanted to make all along, with the MC explaining “Sonically ‘LOVE TOO SOON’ is the kind of music I’ve always wanted to make, a lot of elements taken from the pop artists I grew up on and in the writing you can hear that influence.”

The accompanying visuals (filmed entirely in one-take) are a total departure from the more hip-hop centric clips he’s released as of late, the ‘Billy Bad Again’ rapper dancing up and down a beach pier in an attempt to win the affections of his crush. He moves surprisingly well in the clip as well, channelling a bit of 1980s MJ as he glides and slides throughout the three minute runtime. A highlight however is easily the wide shot of the pair together at 2:30, the rainbow sunset in full burst as the visuals play like a ’70s daydream.

Along with the new single, the ‘ONE’ rapper has today announced his debut album A Colour Undone, which lands on July 7th. In an unexpected twist, ‘LOVE TOO SOON’ plays a bigger role in the upcoming record than you’d assume, with Tasman explaining, “‘LOVE TOO SOON’ introduces the other character that is portrayed throughout the album… Throughout the album, it’s shown that this character has always felt like he must present himself in ways that complement his vulnerability and willingness to be so open, even when it leaves him at risk of being hurt.”

Looks like 2022 is going to be a big year for the Bowraville rhymer. His new single ‘LOVE TOO SOON’ is out now. You can buy/stream it here and pre-order A Colour Undone here. You can also cop tickets to Tasman’s upcoming tour dates here.
