New stuff from Nick Murphy.

Last week, we heard an announcement from Chet Faker that he would no longer be called Chet Faker, rather reverting to his birth name of Nick Murphy, while Brisbane trio Dune Rats subsequently changed their name to Chet Faker.

Now, Nick Murphy is back with new music and a pink and purple press shot that can be seen above. Big! Murphy previously reported plans for his next album – the first under his birth name – and has backed it up with ‘Fear Less’. It’s an emotive cut that continues his exploration of eerie electronica, with Murphy crooning over a bed of synths that builds with swirling intensity. Then the snares kick in with satisfying impact, making ‘Fear Less’ a strong statement about Murphy’s sonic evolution.

In addition to the new music, it has been announced that Murphy will be one heavyweight addition to the Laneway Festival lineup for 2017. Previously, British soul singer Nao leaked her appearance at the event, while the full lineup is set drop tomorrow morning. Listen ‘Fear Less’ below, and make sure you check back on LWA soon for the entire roster of acts appearing at Laneway Festival 2017. Excited:
