Prepare yourselves – there’s a lot of news from The Preatures this morning.

Performing at Sydney Opera House last night as part of VIVID Live, The Preatures announced that their new single ‘Girlhood’ would be the title track for their forthcoming album, which is arriving on August 11. Following in the footsteps of their mammoth debut Blue Planet Eyes, the 11-track album will explore “the contradictions of being a modern woman.” You can see the playful Girlhood album cover art by Sarah Contos below.

Along with the news, The Preatures have also dropped a new video for ‘Girlhood,’ which combines new footage of the band playing under a haze of flashing lights with grainy DIY tapes from the camcorder days. But that’s not all! Come September, The Preatures will be embarking on a national tour, with five dates across Australia with special guests, Polish Club. The band will also be appearing at Yours & Owls festival in Wollongong.

Tickets for all dates will go on sale from June 9 at 11:00am, right here – wrap your head and ears around all of the new goodies from The Preatures now:
