A few weeks ago, a Scream Like Goku event was held at Sydney Opera House.

Yes, people went along. And yes, they screamed with enough willpower to turn Super Saiyan. What many thought was an online meme actually transitioned into an IRL gathering, and another event looks to have similar, rap-flavoured results. A new Facebook event has recently popped up, aiming to gather Sydneysiders on Friday, September 29 to Scream ‘DJ Khaled’ At Hyde Park.

Not only has DJ Khaled been responsible for some of rap’s biggest blockbuster collaborations, but he’s also the voice behind some of the best ad-libs and quotables in recent memory. Whether your Khaled anthem of choice is ‘Gold Slugs’ or ‘I’m On One,’ you’ve likely joined in and sung along as DJ Khaled screamed his name obnoxiously during the intro – and now you can do it in public with a bunch of like-minded folk.

The event will take place from 3:00pm next Friday, and let’s be honest – you aren’t getting any work done on a Friday arvo anyways. Who will actually turn up to this event? Will punters yell ‘another one’ as well? Will there be backing music? Can we go and get a frappe from the nearby Starbucks afterwards? We have so many questions.

Head on down to Hyde Park to scream ‘DJ Khaled’ next week, and read our extensive interview with the legend himself right here. Inspiration below:
