For his Jack Ü project, Diplo recruited Justin Bieber for one of last year’s biggest anthems in ‘Where Are Ü Now‘. Meanwhile, Major Lazer’s collaboration with MØ, ‘Lean On’ still stands as Spotify’s most streamed song of all time. It seems like these artists working together is a sure-fire recipe for success, and now all three parties will connect in glorious fashion.
Speaking on Beats 1, Diplo has confirmed that the single will be titled ‘Cold Water’ and be the first taste of Major Lazer’s upcoming album. The song will premiere via the Lazer Sound program on the streaming service, and while an exact date hasn’t been set, Diplo said that the tune will be “coming up in a couple weeks.”
The announcement follows a Twitter exchange between Diplo & Justin Bieber teasing new music together. With music’s current focus on Caribbean sounds and the sheer star power of all three artists, expect ‘Cold Water’ to be spinning relentlessly on every radio station and at every club and festival for the rest of the year. Just yesterday, it was also revealed that Justin Bieber would be hopping on a remix of Drake’s ‘One Dance’, with OVO radio confirming that an official release and video is on the way.
