After yesterday’s whirlwind announcement that sent waves through Sydney, Splendour In The City are charging full steam ahead, on with tickets on sale for the nine day bash now.
The shows will be taking place in the overseas passenger terminal and forecourt in Sydney, with the Customs and Cargo Halls being host to some of Australia’s best homegrown talent. Boasting 900 and 400 person capacities respectively, the shows will highlight some of the nation’s most promising acts, with rockers like Spacey Jane, Tash Sultana, Ocean Alley along with EDM & alt-pop stars like Running Touch, Vera Blue, CXLOE and countless more all taking to the stages over the 9 days.
It’s not just music or rock-focused however, with Cargo Hall featuring numerous comedy Clubs alongside acts like Ziggy Ramo, Triple One, The Lazy Eyes and more. It seems Splendour In The City is properly trying to recreate the Splendour experience in Sydney, and between the music, comedy, markets, food trucks and even the iconic artist’s Strummer Bar, they’ve really gone all out. And yes, the kiddos will be able to enjoy too, with Splendour In The Grasses ‘legendary kids’ area making an appearance as well.
Exciting times. You can cop tickets to the ticketed shows at Customs Hall and Cargo Hall here, with all proceeds going to the artists. If you miss out on tickets however, you’ll still be able to pop down to the free general event area for a drink and bite, and you might even get the chance to try on a VR headset! (the future is now).
