We’re more used to hearing Tinashe sing over breathy, intimate R&B beats that made tracks like ‘2 On’ and ‘Party Favours’ such a treat, but here she takes a much more upbeat route coupled with retro synths that give ‘Superlove’ a distinctive throwback feel. This is supplemented by a cover with the song’s title written in neon cursive – it’s sweeter than candy and will send you straight back to the 80s.
Speaking on the track produced by The Dream, Tinashe said “‘Superlove’ is a celebration of happiness. More specifically, it celebrates the kind of happiness that is so immense and infectious, that you can’t help but to rejoice in it. I hope to eulogize this wonderful energy and make people feel good, love harder, and dance together.”
