The Tom Petty Birthday Bash festival has been in a staple in his hometown of Gainesville, Florida. Ever since his untimely death in 2017 his estate has made it their mission to make the festival an annual occurrence, and judging by how well the event has done in recent years, it’s safe to say Florida is a huge fan as well. But with COVID-19 throwing a spanner in the works for the 2020 iteration, the festival is going virtual, and it’s pulled off a gorgeous lineup.
The bill definitely has an onslaught of star power, with artists like Post Malone, Stevie Nicks,The Flaming Lips, Foo Fighters, Gary Clark Jr and many more joining the five hour festival. The bash will also feature some beautiful testimonials and speeches from some of Petty’s nearest and dearest, so you know this is gonna be an emotion-filled affair.
The festival will also be raising awareness for the National Independent Venue Associations Save Our Stages bill, which is helping to raise money for music venues across the U.S. The event will also be raising funds for organisations like Arts In Medicine, Digitunity and MusiCares, all aimed to help the Gainesville community as well as upcoming artists.
The festival will be kicking off on October 23 ET. Check the full lineup below.
