COTERIE played some massive shows in support of Tones And I. Here’s what went town in their own words.

NZ-bred, Perth-based COTERIE have been on a radar for quite some time now. The Band of brothers definitely slide into that category of groups who you’ve heard a million times without actually putting a face to the name, simply because of the fact that they have been racking up some serious streaming numbers.

With a penchant for writing sun-soaked, cruisey rock that feels like it was made to be washed down with a beer or two as the day turns into evening, the group have infiltrated earholes and airwaves all over the world. They’re getting noticed now too; receiving the Best New Artist at the 2023 Panhead Rolling Stone Aotearoa Awards and were named Ticketmaster’s 2024 Live Breakthrough Act.

This is all of the back of their breakthrough debut self-titled LP, which spawned massive singles ‘Cool It Down’ and ‘Deja Vu’, and put them well and truly on the map both in Australia and Aotearoa/NZ.

Their latest single ‘One More Chance’ is further evidence of why you should be listening to these guys. Pushing the tempo up, while still strutting this reggae-style groove, the tune packs more punch that their more chill arrangements, with rapper Savage lending his vocals taking things to a new level.

Of course with big tunes, come big shows. Check out the band’s tour diary from their support shows with pop starlet Tone And I below, along with words from the lads themselves. Oh, and don’t forget to follow them on IG here.

Unreal crowd in Brissy, this is Conrad hitting the signature KAAPOOWW power chord ending.

We’ve always found it weird playing shows and not talking to the crowd. I mean if that’s your thing then own it. But we’d like to think we’re pretty funny, or at least some of us.

Hard to put this photo into words, feels like last week we were just jamming in our garage.

Pre show pump up.

Just a typical quiet Sunday arvo with ya boys.

This is a man we like to call The Coach. He’s the nicest dude to walk the planet, real name Jesse. Touring would suck without him. Also our FOH kezza.

Our mate GG took this Polaroid backstage in Radelaide the 1st show of the Tour. Wild night with the Famz.

Backstage at our shows we host a TV show called “Tatts n Chatts” where we bring in some of our mates in other bands or sports even TikToker Nathan Lust has made a couple appearances, and we have a chat while we all get inked up. The artist in this shot goes by Tamoko By Reece.

Our drummer Big Tone getting the goods, or is he just on FaceTime to our Mum mid show, we’ll never know.

Tyler being Tyler.

The absolute most bass player power stance.
