UK R&B up-and-comer Claudia Valentina shares the inside word on her self-titled EP.
Saucey beats with dark overtones, lyrics that engage and intrigue, and melodies that completely intoxicate – it’s a little hard to believe that Claudia Valentina is only 20 years old. With teenage life just in her rearview mirror, it seems that the singer-songwriter has already tapped into a level of musical maturity that many artists take years to reach.
Having amassed millions of Spotify streams, it seems we’re not alone in appreciating her knack for big hooks pushed out through her audacious and powerful voice. It’s a skill she’s honed over the years having first taken to the stages of London’s West End at the age of 10 in a Billy Elliot production before moving to LA to kickstart her career as a musician.

‘Seven’ is the first song I had ever released so it was a big moment for me. It’s definitely showing the vulnerability in me instead of my usual bad bitch persona. It’s about waiting for a guy that says he’s coming over but keeps you waiting seven minutes too long…

2. ‘4:15’
‘4.15’ is one of my favourites on the EP. It opened so many doors for me and really changed my life in so many ways. It’s a bit of a twisted love story about a guy you just can’t say no to.

3. ‘Obsessed’
‘Obsessed’ was written a couple years ago in LA… It’s a perfect representation of my personality as I’m a bit of a perfectionist freak that’s addicted to the hustle.

This track is about as honest and cut throat as it gets. I’ve never liked fluffy lyrics or sugar coating how I feel and this song is definitely not that. It’s about laying it all on the table and just saying it how it is
