The trailer for the new documentary on the events surrounding the DJ’s death suggest it may have been an inside job.

As part of their ‘ReMastered’ mini-series, Netflix are re-examining the unsolved death of Run DMC member and hip-hop icon, Jason William Mizell AKA Jam Master Jay. Gunned down outside his New York studio in 2002, there have been multiple arrests in relation to his murder, however no one has ever been convicted.

By the look of the trailer, investigators incorporate detailed diagrams and recreations whilst looking at the case, with friends and family of Mizell provide commentary. A quote from an interviewee suggests that witnesses of the murder are either “scared or hiding something”, so we can imagine this one turning into something of a gritty whodunnit.
