With voting having just closed (and the countdown kicking off at midday Sunday) triple j have released some impressive figures and stats in regards to this years Hottest 100. The most staggering number being the 2,758,584 votes collected which is an increase on last year’s record breaking tally by 15%. Once again more women (53%) voted than men (45%) with nonbinary/other/noanswer making up the remaining numbers, and the most common age of voters was 18-years-old, with 60% of voters under the age of 24.
But who will take out this year coveted top spot? According to Sportsbet (don’t ask us how they came up with these odds), Northern Beaches rockers Ocean Alley’s ‘Confidence’ will wear the crown, with Childish Gambino’s ‘This Is America’, and Fisher’s ‘Losing It’ to follow.
