This November Australia will welcome one of the world’s most appreciated artists, Bombino, for a national tour.

Having caught our attention with his 2013, Dan Auerbach-produced album Nomad, Tuareg guitarist Omara “Bombino” Moctar has become something of a cultish figure in the music world. Attracting diehard fans around the globe who believe this man and his band of desert musicians are at the pinnacle (or at least Tinariwen-level) of African music.

Even if you don’t know who Bombino is (yet), chances are some of your favourite bands do, with artists like The Rolling Stones, Queens Of The Stone Age, The Black Keys and Arcade Fire among his admirers. His latest album Deran is his fourth consecutive album to reach number one on world music charts such as iTunes and Billboard – not too shabby ey?
