Indeed, it’s been a decade since his debut album It’s Not A Rumour dropped – and some of Akala’s many career highlights will be compiled in the aplty-titled 10 Years Of Akala vinyl set to be released later this month. Just a few weeks after, Akala will be bringing his razor-sharp rhymes to venues across the country as well as one show across the Tasman in New Zealand. Powerful, earnest and reeking of revolution, Akala gives nods to everybody from Malcolm X to Miles Davis in his lyrics, which should tell you that he delivers unapologetic music with meaning.
