All it takes is a great tune, some good(ish) dancing and a terrible backdrop for Baby Beef to get you hooked.

Having released one of our favourite singles (and clips) this year with their ultrasmooth track ‘Better Yet,’ Inner-West trio Baby Beef are back with a brand new track that is sure to get your moving, and a video that is all evidence you need to prove it doesn’t need to cost a million bucks to make an entertaining clip.

Lyrically, the 80’s flavoured ballad draws inspiration from the people around singer Hewett Cook and their ways of dealing with self doubt and feelings of inadequacy. “I get bored of singing from my own perspective so I exaggerate. This song lyrically caricatures the lengths my friends and I go to in order to deal with our insecurities, or to momentarily escape real life,” Hewett says.

The video, which was filmed by Phoebe Burton-Taylor in her humble garage, is largely reflective of the overall Baby Beef ethos – have a little bit of fun, whilst delivering something from the heart. And it seems the group are so full of personality that with a camera and a sheet they can easily draw you right in (a little bit of choreographed dancing never hurts too).
