The Cinema Wristys prove that all you need for a great clip is a creative idea, a couple of Ikea lamps and a printer. Oh, and a banging track as well.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything from Byron Bay’s Cinema Wristys, with the indie/psych three piece clearly focussing on getting everything in perfect working order ahead of the release of their forthcoming debut record. Now that we have the first single ‘Seconds In Time,’ we can see it’s definitely been worth the wait.

The guitar heavy track was recorded at their home warehouse/studio on the fringes of Byron, and shows they aren’t afraid to ask some big questions. ”Seconds In Time is a reminder to not give in to pressures to conform to the societal norms that can be damaging and unhealthy to ourselves and the world around us, and instead slow down and take some time to think for ourselves, make positive changes and enjoy life,” drummer Jacques Gasson says.

The hypnotic clip was made with nothing other than few lamps, a printer and a heap of imagination by Jacques and Cecilia Luhrs and it goes to show that the best things in life are (nearly) free, with the whole thing costing under $100 to make.

The Cinema Wristys will be paying a bunch of shows really soon in support of ‘Seconds In Time,’ including as supports for The Delta Riggs at Miami Marketta in October (info here), and rumour has it they will be joined by a sexy new member.
