Melding live footage and grainy clips from the group’s rehearsal, Sydney rockers Doko have gifted us a visual treat for their latest single ‘Borrowed Time’. Directed by Todd Stephen Logan, the clip incorporates tight shots, vintage-flavoured animations, and jumpy edits to masterfully match the intensity of the tune in a way that makes you feel like you’re right there in the mosh.
Funky bass lines, Gang Of Four-like guitars, and impassioned vocals, the track will have you dancing instantaneously, with the group’s knack for writing catchy melodies backed hooky AF grooves in full flight. Lyrically, the song centres around the uncertain fate of Sydney’s lockout law era music scene – though, after seeing this, it’s impossible to imagine Doko doing anything but invigorating the live music ecosystem.
