Following a multi-year hiatus, Sydney-based rapper/multi-instrumentalist/producer I.E. received a warm reception last month when he released his hard hitting hip hop banger, ‘Gone’. The track garnered critical and commercial acclaim, hip hop and trap fans alike finding the heater’s fiery bars and vibrant production to be a winning combination. Now, he is doubling up on the smash single, today unveiling its high-octane music video (which we’re stoked to be premiering).

The clip is a melting pot of genre and scenes, influences from the cyberpunk, street racing and sci-fi worlds alike rife throughout the three minute runtime as I.E. traverses various landscapes tinged with psychedelic effects. A constant (aside from I.E. himself) throughout the clip is no doubt his pimped out whip, the hip hop OG cruising all the way from Abu Dhabi deserts to cityscapes without missing a beat.

The clip finds a solid synchronicity with the accompanying sonics, as the intricate melodic texture and orchestration is mirrored by seamless transitions and story beats in the visuals. It’s a borderline masterful pairing, one no doubt that’s a result of I.E.’s years collaborating with the likes of BLESSED, Manu Crook$, Jordan Burns and more. Be sure to check it out below.
