The Sydney rockers hit us with a dual release.

There’s a little something for everyone in the music of Flight To Dubai. The band delivers pulsing rock, tempo shifts and hooks aplenty into the earholes of punk rockers, garage purists and indie aficionados, with vocalist Atlas Abel piloting their jangly but dependable machine with his heart in his hand. Over the past couple of years, they’ve carved out a unique sound and performance persona that is frequently unleashed on punters around the country – it’s unapologetically in your face, but also unfeigned and emotionally driven.

‘Firefighter Lady’ and ‘Sparse Space’ are no different, with the four-piece swapping out the energetic ferocity of the former for the sorrow of the latter, and it’s that sentiment they’ve captured in the accompanying clips. Directed by Jamieson Kerr, who the band have teamed up with previously on ‘Crycentennial Man’, the videos follow a seemingly happy couple (played by Abel and Gussie King) whose relationship isn’t as it seems, with a meddling enigmatic character (Kate Rutherford) watching on…

Peep both of the videos below and be sure to – coronavirus permitting – get out and catch these guys as they take on the East Coast this March and April (dates below, events here).
