WA’s Good Doogs have been on an upward trajectory since the release of their 2017 EP, Life Is Messy, with their brand of angsty surf/punk helping them nab support slots with Aussie acts like Skegss, Ruby Fields & Bleeding Knees Club, as well as selling out headline shows on the West Coast. Things aren’t slowing down for them this year either, with a ‘Nothing To Do’ national single tour coming up over March and April – not too shabby for newcomers on the scene.
‘Nothing To Do’ is catchy as all hell, combining all the best ingredients of tasty pop-punk – catchy verses, great melodies and a chorus you can bang your head to. There’s no doubt that the lads have prowess to capture the apathy and indifference of growing up in a suburban coastal town where at times you can be forced to make your own fun, especially when the surf is crook.
The video, which was filmed and edited by Emma Smart, follows the boys as they roll around town looking for some action, before duly realising the only thing that can quench their boredom is playing music and shotgunning beer. Hey, we’ve all been there. Keep an eye out for the Emily Ratajkowski posters:
