Well… kinda for the weekend.

Coasting off the success of their recent track, ‘Can’t Run No More,’ unstoppable Sydneysiders The Lulu Raes have somehow upped their game, unveiling a mesmerising follow-up single, ‘Not For the Weekend’. On top of a catchy keyboard riff and foot-tapping beats, frontman Eddie Burton shines in signature high-octane as glittering verses ascend to an anthemic chorus. A sun-drenched and euphoric tune, The Lulu Raes have got your summer tracklist sorted.

The accompanying clip compiles home-videos of the lads as they traipse around scenic Aussie landscapes. Setting up drum sets in the park, playing roadside soccer, and driving along the grassy countryside; it’s a nostalgic blend of blue skies perfectly matched by the tracks’ lush instrumentals.

Lyrically, the band sees the track as a form of “self-reflection;” a “peace offering” to a person who “had decided it was time to move on with their life.” It’s this lyrical prowess, evident here and across their discography, that has earnt The Lulu Raes staple status at festival mainstays like Falls and Groovin’ the Moo, and has seen them perform alongside industry heavyweights like The Jungle Giants and Lime Cordiale.
