They Sydney four-piece are back with a mesmerising new tune.

For many of us fans of quality psych music, there’s been a Montes Jura shaped hole in our hearts for a little while. With the guys focussing on recording a follow-up to their debut 2017 EP The Tempest, they’ve only played a select handful of shows over the past six months or so. Thankfully they are right back into the swing of things and they have the clip to prove it.

‘Sleep Divide’ has been well worth the wait, with the band hitting those 60s-psych sweet spots all over again. A nice mix of twangy and spacey guitars, dreamy vocals, with kinks-esque moody back-ups, the tune lures you in with tasty guitar hooks before knocking you out with a hypnotic outro. It’s the result of what the band says is “a move away from their usual collaborative jam approach to a more honed and pre-meditated production.”

The clip, which was shot, edited, and directed by Pat Naoum, sees the band set up in the kind of room you’d like to stumble into after taking a trip at a festival. Here, however, you can have all of that goodness without any of the comedown:
