Electro pop artist Nicole Millar has certainly set the bar high for herself when it comes to music. Her emotionally-charged debut LP Excuse Me has amassed over 15 million Spotify streams, with hooky jams ‘Blindfolded,’ ‘Tremble’ and ‘Signals’ clearly hitting the right notes with fans all over the world. Today she’s back at it again with a brand new video to accompany one of the albums most infectious tunes, ‘All My Issues.’
The track looks inwards, lyrically focuses on the importance of being self-aware and acknowledging the pressure we can heap on ourselves to be ‘perfect’ both inside and out. “[‘All My Issues’] is about confronting all of my insecurities, imperfections and issues, wearing them on my sleeve, and knowing that by owning them, I can be the best person I can be,” Nicole says.
Visually, the clip dips between captivating shots of an unguarded Nicole awash in pink and green luminescents, and footage following a group of seemingly carefree teenage revellers as they cruise through the neighbourhood. “I wanted the video to vulnerable and inspiring and I hope people feel that as they’re watching it,” Nicole says.
Check out some the behind the scenes shots from ‘All My Issues’ below, and you can catch Nicole Millar supporting UK’s Bastille in early September at The Big Top in Sydney and at The Forum, Melbourne (info here).
