Are you listening? It feels like everything Canberra quartet Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers are throwing down right now is making waves around the country. Their zero-fucks-given core is happily melding with melodically lush hooks, birthing a sound that’s simultaneously unpolished and addictive. Their music infiltrates your earholes and refuses to come out, like a bratty teenager in a poster-covered bedroom – we fucking love it.

The group have run with this kind of imagery in the clip for their latest single ‘Miss Your Birthday’. Capturing the grungey playfulness of the track, which has already amassed 120K streams, the visuals see Neve (drums), Jaida (bass) and Scarlett (guitar/vox) exude a back-of-the-bus coolness while Anna (guitar/vox) celebrates her birthday solo.

“The ‘Miss Your Birthday’ video is a big bowl full of all our favourite things! The bright colours with the lil punk schoolgirl skirts are the two sides of Teen Jesus, so it’s amazing to see them on screen for the first time!” Scarlett says of the clip. “We had the best time with Kyle and his team and are so excited to finally share our first real music video.”

“We went into this clip knowing it would be a too-cool-for-school, high-energy and vibrant play on classic 80s 90s rock film clips and cinema. The energy and charisma TJJT brought to the table made shooting this clip effortless, the concept was really brought to life by how authentic and fun each of the members are, it was really a great clip to work on and I can’t wait to see Teen Jesus take over the world,” director Kyle Caulfiend adds.
