Egyptian-Australian artist Nardean is back with another intimate single in ‘Disconnected.’

Having impressed us with her wonderfully organic Creatress EP earlier this year, Nardean has since gone on to play her own headline tour and Splendour In The Grass, while she’ll also be tackling BIGSOUND festival in Brisbane next week. But before that, she’s blessed us with another video for Creatress cut ‘Disconnected.’ It features her signature blend of rap, spoken word and gentler melodies, making for a woozy listen that addresses a past relationship.

“It’s a special piece of art to me – there have been so many full circle moments with this one. It is the first song I ever wrote from top to bottom. The guy it was written about was also a rapper, he was the one who persuaded me to pursue music. It was a beautiful relationship but also very toxic,” she says.

“He wrote a song about us, and after our relationship I took the lyrics, flipped them and made them about him. I admit, it was super spiteful, but also extremely satisfying. We’re all good with each other now in case anyone is wondering.”

Watch ‘Disconnected’ below, and if you’re up in Brisvegas next week, make sure you catch her sets at 256 Wickham on Tuesday, September 4 and Black Bear Lodge on Thursday, September 6:
