You may remember four-piece psych outfit Switch Doctor from when we premiered their debut EP a couple of months back, and if you don’t, you’ll certainly remember them after watching their brand new video.

There’s something about Switch Doctor that is a little different. Their tunes seem to diverge from the mainstream in a way that gives them a depth and intrigue that is unrivalled by any other local psych groups getting around. Once again, they have piqued our interest with their rad new video for ‘Strange Insides.’

The track, which is a standout on the group’s Early Symptoms EP, lyrically focuses around the notion of maintaining a distinctive edge in an often monotonous world – something which they clearly are on top of. “The idea of the song is about moving through life and taking what is necessary for yourself, knowing that you have to fight for your individuality,” singer/guitarist Jaxon Sharp says.

The entrancing clip was shot by the group’s regular artistic collaborator, Callum McSullea, and sees the lads roaming their local stomping grounds in black and white. “We shot the video out our studio and surrounding areas in the Hawkesbury as our music is a product of our environment. We just had fun with it and didn’t aim for it try to have too much meaning,” bass player Jacob Hedges says.

If you’re anything like us, and have just watched the clip 10 times over, you’ll be keen to catch Switch Doctor in the flesh. They’ll be supporting Jack Harlon and the Dead Crows, 3rd of November at the Lord Gladstone. Head to their facebook for details.
