Coming through hard for their community…

No doubt 2020 has been just a bit chaotic, but it’s given the opportunity for Aussie artists and figures to link up hard, whether it be to support each other and fellow artists doing it tough or even for those punters missing the magic of live music. They’ve also just come through for the community in general, and it’s clear that Mansfield’s own Violent Soho are taking pains to do just that. Now, in what is believed to be a first for Aussie junior sports, the Queensland four-piece are teaming up with their local junior rugby league club Easts Mt Gravatt to produce an exclusive piece of merch, with all profits going to the club.

The jersey features that classic Violent Soho blazing skull logo, along with some embellished rugby league headgear and a mouthguard on the front. The back of the jersey has the number 4122, representing the south-Brissy postcode that the OG Soho fans will have practically memorised by now.

The move comes after the release of Violent Soho’s ARIA number one album Everything Is A-OK, with the band looking for a way to give back to their community for some time now. And with all members of the band being mad footy fans, the link up with Easts Mt Gravatt seemed pretty perfect.

Going beyond the sick jersey move, the band have included a sick Easter egg in their video for ‘Pick It Up Again’, featuring one of the Easts Mt Gravatt’s families as well as a shot of Tidswell wearing a pair of the club’s footy shorts. They’re all also volunteers for the club, which is just sick on its own.

It’s a pretty mad move by the Queensland four-piece, and just continues to prove that they’re absolute legends in the Aussie Indie scene and their community. You can buy/ stream their latest album Everything Is A-OK here.
