Can’t wait…

In news that will make the Beyhive very happy, Disney+ has announced that Beyoncé’s new visual album Black is King will be available on its streaming service on July 31. The new album is inspired by The Lion King and was written, directed and executive produced by Queen B herself. The visual comes a year after the 2019 live-action remake of The Lion King, in which Beyoncé played Nala and curated the soundtrack for.

The one minute trailer features some beautiful landscapes and musical themes, capturing a real surrealist element that incorporates outer space and tribal imagery, as Bey narrates “The ancestors never left you.” It’s properly beautiful, and captures the magic of the Lion King series as well as that of Beyoncé’s music. No doubt this is gonna be straight up sublime.

The album also has mad features, boasting appearances from Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, 070 Shake, Tierra Whack, as well as Bey’s number one fans Jay-Z and Blue Ivy Carter.

Black Is King is a celebratory memoir for the world on the Black experience,” Parkwood Entertainment said when announcing the visual album. “The film is a story for the ages that informs and rebuilds the present. A reunion of cultures and shared generational beliefs. A story of how the people left most broken have an extraordinary gift and a purposeful future.”

It’s gorgeous to say the least. Check the full trailer below.
