Naturally with the approach of Christmas comes an onslaught of carols, a tsunami of ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ playing in every nook and cranny possible. This year it seems Mariah has some competition however, with artists like Carly Rae Jepsen, FINNEAS and the Jonas Brothers each debuting their own Christmas songs. Now BTS has gotten in on the fun, dropping a fun AF cover of the Chrissy classic ‘Santa Claus Is Coming To Town’ for ABC’s holiday singalong program.
The video sees the seven-piece gather around a super wholesome Chrissy tree splattered with presents, wearing some mad aesthetic festive outfits. They properly let loose and have fun in the video, flexing their vocal chops (along with some random AF impersonations) as they indulge in the Christmas spirit.
The vid comes after a kick-ass year for BTS, the supergroup becoming the first K-pop group to go Platinum in the US for their 2018 project Love Yourself: Answer. They’ve also broken YouTube’s record for biggest video premiere, and secured their third No.1 single in three months just this week with ‘Dynamite’.
It’s clear they’re firing on all cylinders, and it’s good to see them take the time to have some fun with a good old Christmas cover. Check it out below.
