Grohl is such a G…

After being called out in the sweetest possible way, rock legend Dave Grohl has responded to ten-year-old drummer super fan Nandi Bushell’s drum-challenge for him. The battle first started when the Bushell posted a video to Twitter of her playing the Foo Fighters classic ‘Everlong’, captioning the video “My dream is to one day jam with Dave Grohl, @taylorhawkins and all the @foofighters! Mr Grohl I would love to have a drum battle with you! I LOVE Everlong it’s really hard to play as it’s so fast but so much FUN!”

Two weeks later, after receiving “100 texts” from friends, Grohl responded by playing ‘Everlong’ then going into ‘Dead end Friends’ by Them Crooked Vultures (which is a actually his supergroup with Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme and Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones funnily enough). Grohl also made sure to add that he hasn’t played drums for the song since it was recorded in 1997 which is totally insane.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Bushell has received love from rockstars, with Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello showing love to the young prodigy after her cover of ‘Guerilla Radio’ in which she played drums, guitar and bass. She also got praise from Kirk Hammett of Metallica after her rendition of ‘Enter Sandman’. She’s clearly got some mad skills, and no doubt she’ll be legend in her own right sometime soon. Check her initial ‘Everlong’ cover and Grohl’s response below.
