Despite the polarising response to his lengthy album Views, there’s no doubt that Drake’s latest work is resounding with audiences like never before.

The Canadian emcee has just scored his first Billboard Number. 1 hit with ‘One Dance’ – an accolade that many thought would be snatched by the viral hit ‘Hotline Bling in 2015. Better yet, Drizzy has an astounding 20 tracks currently sitting on the Billboard Hot 100. Yes, that’s right – one fifth of the tracks on the charts currently belong to Drake, with 18 taken from Views. This marks the most tracks an artist has had simultaneously on the Hot 100, surpassing Justin Bieber’s record of 17 last December. It’s an incredible achievement for the OVO head honcho, with Views already going platinum is just a number of days since its release.

Now, Drake has stepped in for a rare interview with everybody’s favourite music journalist, Nardwuar. Alongside producer Noah ’40’ Shebib – the man responsible for Drake’s signature pensive soundscapes – the rapper delves deep into his own history, even so far as his Degrassi days. As always, Nardwuar brings out investigative questions that continue to bamboozle is subjects, bringing in some of Drizzy’s favourite dancehall records and even Kobe Bryant’s remix of Destiny’s Child – who was famously name-dropped on ‘Stay Schemin‘.

Watch below for an extensive insight into Views and Drake’s history, where you’ll also find the list of his current chart domination. You can read our review of the album right here:
