In an epic clash of GOATs in their respective fields, Flume has picked up his surfboard to tackle Kelly Slater’s wavepool in Lemoore, California.
It’s been non-stop for Flume since the release of his sophomore album Skin earlier this year – and his status as a global electronic star means that he now spends much of his time overseas. Still, he’s found a spare minute to step away from the stage and link up with surfing legend Kelly Slater on the West Coast – marking his debut artificial wave encounter.
The video is also soundtracked by a new Flume joint called ‘Quirk’ for your listening pleasure, while fellow Aussie Steph Gilmour is also present.
“I’m about to ride an artificial wave for the first time, at Kelly Slater’s own wavepool… and I am insanely excited right now. This is like a dream of ours from high school,” he says. Growing up on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Flume was a bodyboarder in his earlier years but switches up his stance for this very rare opportunity.
