Always in the mood for a Gang of Youths performance.

Hot off the release of their third studio album Angel in Realtime, Sydney band Gang of Youths are making laps up and down North America for their first international tour in four years. The latest stop of their string of U.S. dates sees them take to the Tonight Show stage for an explosive rendition of ‘in the wake of your leave’, in what’s their debut performance on the historic stage.

The four minute clip sees the six-piece bring the similar level of energy they’ve brought to past talk show appearances such as The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Late Night with Seth Meyers, lead singer David Le’aupepe roaring lyrics like “It’s not a thing that I’ve been dreaming of/And it goes without my blessing/And leaves me in a rut”. The instrumental and arrangement as a whole is on another level here as well, various strings and guitar lines curating a real anthemic feel for the Tonight Show audience.
