The trilogy continues…

Odds are if you were heavy on hip hop last decade, you’re a bit familiar with Man On The Moon by Kid Cudi. His debut album was so much to young hip hop heads, its deep exploration of mental health and the inner struggle paving the way for countless hip hop artists since. It’s literally been heralded as “the album that saved a generation”, which just goes to show its boundless reach, even back in 2009. It was beautiful, and the following instalment Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager was equally as impactful.

It’s safe to say that for a lot of us, that was the peak of Cudi’s discography, his albums since sort of missing the mark or completely fucking ignoring it (shoutout to Speeding Bullet 2 Heaven). But it looks like all of those years could be made up for, as Cudi has announced the much awaited Man On The Moon III.

The vid starts with a series of Cudi moments throughout the years, before landing on Cudi in a Los Angeles lookout looking at the moon while having a smoke, the screen then transitions to a red ‘III’ before the words ‘The trilogy continues’ appear on the screen, before cutting to black.

Also, this could be completely random or just a part of Cudi’s ingenious plan, but the announcement of the new album also coincided with NASA’s announcement of water being found on the moon, which will be incredibly helpful for helping to put man on the moon longterm (the pun writes itself).

This is definitely a good day, and no doubt an album like this is exactly what we need in 2020. Check out the full reveal below.
